I know that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum on the 'other' board but there are so many threads and opinions I don't know where to start. Mine is an '08 airbag model with the typical issues, no grips or heated seat. Every now and then it works but not for long. I know that it must be below a certain ambient temp to work but believe me, where I live, we're there. I've wiggled the wires where they enter the grips and that doesn't seem to work.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well as it works every now and then, I would instantly suspect the left grip heater. It is a sheet of plastic basically with a printed heating element on it, it likes to expand and contract and open and close the element if it gets compromised.
Could be various things, generally when the system is erratic it is that left grip. You can stick needles in the wires and do a continuity test through the grip to determine if it is busted.

I think I have discovered my heated seats and grip problem. My seats and grip gave up the ghost on me last fall and would occasionally work. I have read numerous threads on the various boards about what might be the cause and so many of them pointed to the left grip. On the airbag model you have to take the left front fairing off to get at the connector, I was prepared to tackle the job today and then changed my mind since I didn't want my bike torn up for the weekend. I decided to try the stock seat and guess what? Grips and seat heaters work so it looks like it's the Corbin seat that is the problem. Not what I wanted to find.

Rixx....I have been in contact with another seat company that uses the same heaters. They are all having problems. Like the manufacturer will not warranty them now.
We are starting to work on a solution.
