The opposing comments seem cut-and-paste from those we have heard before. Several were written by pro writers that I'm sure earned them supporting smiles (if not nice checks) from MT manufacturers. If the MT folks would just stop the nay-saying and knuckle down to improve their product... BTW, we sometimes complain about the GL1800 being the same technology that was released in 2001. Seems our MTs are about the same! On my third CT, and just did a ride over 441 and BRP on wet leaves with no slips!

Great article........On my third CT also with no regrets all have averaged around 20K plus miles. But then again I'm running just a little ahead of Slowwwwwwwwww Joe and way behind that other Yellow Wing.

Very nice article. Sure gets a foot in the door for CT credibility.
Thanks for posting, Bartman!

We've kicked this topic around for years and there's no end in sight. I have however come to a few conclusions. Why do we feel the need for validation or justification for using the CT? We know from experience that name brand RF tires such as Michelin's Alpin Primacy are safe when properly mounted and maintained, have good grip, smooth ride, great mileage, and relatively low costs. Why not keep quiet and enjoy our great tires at bargain prices and let the nay sayers do as they please? I don't need any individual, organization, or manufacturer to tell me my tire choice is OK. I suppose CT manufacturers will never say their CT's are suitable for motorcycles because souls less intelligent than we on this board would only hear "car tires are OK on motorcycles." With that said, I can see some stooge then thinking it's OK to take the tires off of grandpa's old 52 Plymouth that's sittin in thu barn. It's a matter of liability I'm sure. By the way Bart, that is a good article. Hope to see you more this fall when this oppressive heat is gone. OBT Oh yea, I'm not a newbie. I just don't come over here very often
