Bike Year / Level: '14" Candy Red with Hannigan Trike Kit

Hard to believe that my first year has been put into the books with my new to me bike and Hannigan kit. Where did those months go? Of course, when you are out riding and enjoying all that life brings your way, the months and the miles just seem to slip by. I thought that I would transition to 5,000 mile intervals for reporting now that I have 25,000 miles on this great front wheel assembly from Hannigan. I can not get over how well this tire is wearing, and how well the trike handles as a result of this addition. When I first checked the front wheel, the depth of the tread measured approximately 8.5MM. As you can see, I am now at approximately 6MM of tread left on this tire. This is amazing to me given that over the course of those 25,000 miles I have ridden in all sorts of conditions, from down pours, to 103 temps, and traveled on many different road surfaces. I have pushed this Trike and front wheel set up at the Dragon and many miles on twisty roads, sweepers, and highway miles. As reported at the 20,000 mile mark, I have noticed a little and I mean little, cupping, but wonder if that had anything to do with losing some wheel weights. I have since installed Dynabeads and have not noticed that the issue has gotten worse. Here is the tire at 25,000. You can just make out signs of some of the cupping that I mentioned. Getting ready to roll once again, so stay tuned.

hi wheels, I've been reading your report on your front end, very interesting to me as a hacker, can you direct me to some more descriptive threads or posts about it that may have some pic's? I'm always lookin' to improve things, is it center hub or a form of leading link? did it modify the rake or trail, resulting in easier handling? just curious, thanks

Well, John is right. I just got back from the Lead Pencil Run (what a great time) and did not take/have a PC with me. This tire is a Michelin Commander II 180/65b 16 rear tire. As I have shared, I am extremely impressed with it.
Mickey, as John shared (thanks John) this is all Hannigan's baby and the front end is all custom. Not sure if anyone else is/has reported on it like I have. If you call out to Hannigan I know they would be happy to tell you all about it. This front end does not care what "kit" is on the back of the GL1800.
I just thought, given that I think I was about the 3rd person to get one, that I would chronicle my experiences with it and share. The addition to my trike required that I end up with a 5 1/4 rake, which I must admit coming from my other trike which had none, has helped my shoulders a great deal.
John Lee, who is a good guy (don't tell him I said that) would be more than happy to share with anyone about the ins and outs of it all and who is putting them on and what they are now putting them on as I know they (Hannigan) are looking to expand it past the GL1800 platform.
Hope this helps.
(Now where did I put that aspirin, LOL)
