This is cool. It's especially interesting for two unknowing observers at 2:34.

Interesting video... but other than the missile hitting its target, the test would seem to be a failure to me. If that were a warship, the impact was far too high to do any 'real' damage. Unless the crew was completely incompetent, the ship would've been in no danger of sinking. The target should've been much lower to the hull to put a ship out of commision.

IF,,, it had been an actual Mission as opposed to a test, the Missile would have been armed and packing a helluva PUNCH. This one was a benign unarmed version (loaded with inert ballast only to simulate the payload of the "good stuff that go boom). Where it hit the Target would have been a non-issue. Hit Target, unleash untold devastation and destruction, and its Welcome to Hell A-Holes. The Target would have been dispatched and eliminated. Anything flammable or explosive on board would have been ignited as a result as well. All Personnel on board either vaporized or incinerated The Harpoon it is replacing is a friggin Beast and does ungodly damage. This Monster will top its predecessor in regard to damage capability. The French Exocet is a tad different in that it is designed to pierce the Hull under the water line and doesn't pack the punch of the Harpoon or this modified Tomahawk. The French are a little squeamish about Warfare. They seek to disable and render dead in the water. We on the other hand are a tad more efficient and expedient. We seek to obliterate in a One Stop Shopping-One Dose will do Ya. Reach out and touch 'em and be done with 'rm. Bah-bye Scumbag!
P.s. the Harpoon it is replacing is described as Antiquated. The Harpoon was designed by MacDonald Douglas and went to the Branches for testing in 1978. One Helluva piece of Weaponry for its day. The baddest Mother in the world with no equal. Things have changed in 37 years.

Tom, I thought the same thing. After doing a LOT of reading about the test, it seems they hit where they were aiming. Each of the boxes were numbered and box 19 was the chosen target. It's kind of scary that they're able to get that precise from a great distance, on a MOVING target. MURICA!!!!

Kinda dumb to take out your target (the ship...) when all you wan to take out is a specific area.
There's good - there's really good, then there's insanely good.
That's insane accuracy.
