I recently started doing some reading and studying on oil filters. Many of us used to use the "Supertec" filters available at WalMart. These filters were made by Champion. Champion Laboratories was acquired by Fram Filtration. This should not be confused with Champion Aerospace which is still an independent company. Champ Labs still makes a LOT of filters for a LOT of companies, including the Mobil 1 filters and some of the Amsoil filters for certain applications. You can spend some time on their website reading and cross checking all of their information. In the meantime, if you want to buy some filters made my Champion, check out these two resources. The "6607" filter that Champion made for WalMart is now the PH2876. You can confirm this by going to the Champion Labs Application page, click on the Cross Reference tab at the top and searching for PH2876. If you're interested in the "larger" 7317 version, that number is PH2867 Now for the GOOD part. 12 of the PH2876 filters for $22.12 of the PH2867 filters for $32.Enjoy!
