Whether or not you agree to the value of running car tires on the back of GL1800s, you have to admit it can be tricky to find someone to mount one. I recently went to my nearest Honda dealer and the service manager apologized and said his owner told him never to mount a car tire again. I went 2 miles up the road to Walmart, who happily mounted it for me. Their service manager said he had 2 guys that could do it. I discovered he really only had one - the other rides a sport bike, but the first mounts his tires for him. Clean job and appreciated that I warned them about having Dynabeads installed (slippery on concrete, and I always use new).

For the past few years, I have gone to a local Firestone dealer where I know the mechanic, Frank. He has always taken good care of me and has never had a problem mounting the tires, front or rear. It helps if you developed some sort of rapport with a tire dealer/installer. If you don't have that kind of relationship, then Walmart is a great option.
If you already have a car tire on your rim, taking an old one off and putting a new one on is a non-issue for them. If however it's your first one, you should remove the old MC tire before bringing the rim and new CT in for mounting.

My local dealer will not mount a CT nor will they inspect my bike with a CT on it.. So I found a local country garage that will mount the tire for $10.00 (and does it without messing up the rim) The only thing he can't do is balance them. But not a problem with that because I also use only dyna-beads. And I just put on the MT when it's due for inspection and put the CT back on after I get the new sticker put on the bike. Problem solved...

You can also try some of the places that mount those crazy expensive rubber-band tires on those huge $800 rims.
I found one place that did it, but it closed (I'm only using up about 1 tire/year...) after a couple of years.
The last three times, it's been Discount Tire. They don't blink an eye if you already have a tire on the rim - they did twitch the one time I took a new-to-me rim in there to have them install a tire that I brought with me.

The last 2 times I put CT's on my '08 at Mom & Pop's it them took it to local dealer to be balanced but it didn't need it. I think if they do a good job of lining up the dot on the tire with the valve stem there will be a good chance it might not need balancing.
Question: Now I have a '13. Will dyna beads affect or hurt in any way the piece-of-crap oem tpms?

Coming late to this thread. To answer the question above, balancing beads will not effect the TPMS. TPMS is on inside of rim, beads are on outside of tire. Plus the mass of the beads are miniscule - there is no way they can damage the TPMS.
As to mounting a tire - I do it for free and even provide a cold soda - but ya gotta bring the tire to me. On or off the bike, don't matter. If still on the bike then you get to learn how to remove a wheel. I'm located in Crossville TN. I use balancing beads, have for many a year.
