When you have always had an agenda but no way to present/enforce it, you become a Moderator. When you always had your hand up to be picked and never was called on, you become a moderator. When you don't stand out in the crowd because you are to short, you become a moderator. When your dog always greeted everyone else in your family but you, you become a moderator. When your past is questionable/exposed and the only way to silence it, you become a moderator. Does that apply to this board also? ;=) Not sure what you mean.......But I did go back and read some of your stuff.......interesting to say the least.

Was it Dennis, or a higher up? Higher up. I was reported on by a mod. Hope you were able to realign them... I read the thread - astounding, simply astounding.

When you don't stand out in the crowd because you are to short, you become a moderator. When your dog always greeted everyone else in your family but you, you become a moderator. When your past is questionable/exposed and the only way to silence it, you become a moderator. Does that apply to this board also? ;=) Realizing that I am short (but do stand out in a crowd, LOL), I will take a shot at this one. I see the wink, and thus the "poke," and know that you know what Freddie was saying, yet I'll go further. The old site was a great place, and for some might still very well be, yet for the many hundreds of members who were there from day one, or close to it, that have left it no longer resembles what "we" remember it to be. Sure, it was sold for money and the folks who bought it are out to make money, and more power to them, but beyond that, things went south when you make a cattle call for "who wants to be a Mod." For some (one, LOL) it was like saying "hey who wants free Dope." The ones who signed up did so with an agenda. Each, I believe, were/are active members of the Box/OTE and quickly set out to toss those whose opinions hurt their little feelings. We already exposed Dennis for being Mod 2 as the "Dope" signed off on a post while logged in as Mod 2 as Dennis, was caught, and then deleted the post and what really made me laugh, used the same post as "wingwing." DUHH. LOL. The site will never go away and will always be a good place for many. It has long roots. But the "feel and sense of family/community" is gone in my humble opinion. The vindictive little "smoker" was quick to block all of my IP addresses so that I was no longer to lurk after to caught his goof up. No worries at all. I have asked a few friends to share with those who ask about accommodations and might be "looking for Wheels" to direct them to where they can find me. I have not been on that site for months, however now that I am in a new location, I can see it and laugh in that it says that "Wheels" has signed in within the last three weeks. It would appear someone has my password. I guess Mods can get that info as well. LOL I tend to look for good, and as such, the actions of the misguided vengeful few have brought about good. This site being one. There is a saying that suggests that when one makes their bed, they must lay in it. I would say they are tossing and turning in it. But hey, look, even "they" can bring about some good I guess as we now have a post that has gown to 4 pages. LOL

"It" is What "It" is and "They" are what "They" ARE.... "It/They" are already far too well known, painfully transparent, and chronically inconsequential.
In the Grand Scheme of things, it really doesn't matter and nobody will really give 2 Fecal Defecations when all is said and done.
We need to be careful and cautious not to sound like or turn into a hypocritical Facsimile of the Moaning Crying Twits aka Loathsome Sicko Tools.
I'm just saying NOT judging.

The reason Lewis was "called" is the precise reason I left the other board. That is TOTAL BULLSH1T! Contrary to popular belief, no one on that board (regardless what the pundits pontificate), know's why I decided to leave. It had NOTHING to do with anyone on the board (although GWG is a P.O.S. and if I ever have the chance, I'll tell him to his face loud enough for everyone to hear, just how much of a lying, cheating and thieving bastard he is), it had 100% to do with the powers that be with VS. There was also that A$$HAT Cruiseman, but don't get me started on him (he left long before I did). He would lead you to believe he's a good person with good intentions, but if you knew what I know, you would stay as far away from that P.O.S. as you could. And if I'm mincing words, my apologies. Some of this has been weighing on me for a LONG time. VS is in bed with a couple of vendors who are major sponsors on a number of their boards. Say anything against one of those vendors (or support one of the other vendors too much by showing your support via a post) and you will get slapped. I did. And it was total nonsense, just like the BS that happened to Lewis. The decision to add new mods was a hasty decision with no foresight, planning, training or due diligence. Basically, they asked if you wanted to be one and if you volunteered, you got the job if your name was drawn. It was my suggestion to have the new mods remain anonymous (like Hazle was when Lamont owned the board) and for the most part, that has worked very well. To this day, to my knowledge, the ID's of MOD 3 & 4 are still anonymous. Dennis outed himself. Whether that is good or bad, I'll let others judge. I tried several times to talk to the "head" Admin/Mod at VS ( and even spent my own money to call Canada) only to be informed that "she" didn't take calls from moderators of VS boards. When "Jeff" came on board, he tried to ease some of the tension. He reached out to me and we had several productive discussions. Towards the end, I tried several times (unsuccessfully) to get on a conference call with Jeff and his replacement Phil, and we never could get together. There was always something that came up. Eventually, I gave up and decided to quit wasting my time. Yeah, I ruffled a few feathers over there over the years, but it was NEVER personal. Even when Greg would post his BS, I never attacked Greg personally, it was always about his advice, suggestions, recommendations, or lack of common sense which might negatively impact a fellow member. Believe me, if I wanted to, I could have had Greg banned a long time ago, but up until he admitted to stealing from the board, he never broke the rules. So the accusation that I had a personal vendetta against Greg didn't hold water. And even today, you can visit the board and read some of his posts and others have figured out that it wasn't just me, but that his comments and advice are just downright nonsense, 99% of the time. I always tried to do my very best and tried to be helpful and timely in my actions. Yeah, I had to recommend some people get banned and the "Monday Morning Quarterbacks" thought they knew why when in fact, they had no clue as to why any decision was made. When someone got banned, it was for a GOOD reason and while the decision might have been very unpopular, the cry babies who kept whining about certain people didn't have the information we had when the decisions were made. And contrary to popular belief, before someone got banned when I was the mod, there was discussions with the admin (Lamont or the VS admins). The simple fact is the old board has become more of a money machine and VS is only interested in that side of the board and not the member's best interests. Trust me, I know. VS's goal is to continue to acquire popular motor-sports/power-sports forums. Want proof? Steve Saunder's site, Goldwingfacts.com is now owned by VS. Here's proof: (scroll down and look at the DNS Servers - a.k.a. Name Servers) www.whois.net/whois/goldwingfacts.comI miss my friends over on the other board. This winter, I hope to catch up with the Florida bunch and see some of them at the RTE's. They're a GOOD bunch of folks. Had to get some of that off my chest. I'm going to make myself a stiff cocktail.

Thanks Bart but you didn't have to clarify anything in my eyes. I have said it before and in the beginning, VS is all about money and I can't wait for the day they fold or when someone files suit against them.

As I have shared and will do so again, I have met many good folks over the years and with little question "big guy," (sorry I sent my 6'2" legs to Africa otherwise I would almost look you in the eye when saying this), you are most certainly one. I realize you did not share what you did for any of this sort of comformation, but I'll say you did a good job. You were and are one of us, and as such while the job was thankkless, did a good one. Thanks for all your help over the years and for ensuring that this site now hold smany of the informative posts that you pulled together. Along with the countless hours of pulling together the contact list that you managed. All good stuff.
Save a sip for me as I would welcome yet another chance to share a beverage with ya.

Well, I just got called out at the other place for 'commercial posting' by simply answering a question with the word 'yes'. Amazing. Now that dropped my jaw. Are they really getting that bad? I had typed a longer response that shared a little story, but I don't want to be bitter about other websites here, so I deleted it.

I am going to have to get used to the way this board works. It seems I have been missing a lot of posts, expecting it to work like the old board.
Some fascinating stories here. I just got into a tussle with wingwing about helmets in the past week. I was wondering why nobody else was challenging some of the things he was saying. Now I know.
I'm pretty naive to most of the backroom politics that goes on with stuff like that. I guess I just don't pay attention. When I finally do find out, it's usually a huge surprise.
Who is the other moderator whose identity is known?

Just got around reading the other board, tech section, And this the great one has to say:

There is stuff I would like to know as well and who better than the one that created it? And I am obviously not the only one who wants info too as there has been over 1400 views... No, that is not happening. Some people have nothing better to do than start trouble here. It does not take long to figure out who they are.
EC had his logo and link to facebook in his earlier response. (it's' gone now) He probably got reminded that is not allowed unless you are a sponsor. No one "got in trouble".
His response was not "out of line". He can post all the help information he wants here. He just can't advertise a business logo or put links to your business without being a sponsor. Is there anyone who does not know that by now?
A few people on the board say they are sick and tired of "favorites" getting special treatment.. .. those same people then gripe when it's one of their favorites who got denied special treatment.
end of story
Dennis
But it's not the end of the story, he continues to suck up and play favorites:
The first time I saw this fix, it was posted by Fred. It works.. .. but soldering and adding the right resistors is a bit much for many people.. .. and, a lot of folks don't like "cutting into" the wiring harness.
This "plug and play" version from Lewis is simple and easy and made for non techies. No soldering and you don't have to get into the wire harness. What a GREAT idea.
More info at the Electrical Connection website HERE >>
Thank you Lewis! .. keep the good stuff coming...
Dennis
So I guess Gold Wing Greg will get a pimp from the dope head.........Ya just can't make this stuff up

Curiosity makes me want to read all the juicy details, but it's also a bit uncomfortable. This could quickly turn into a lynch mob, which we probably don't want to do.
As much as all of us are here to support Lewis, many of us are obviously also upset with the circumstances that are forcing us to leave what was a long time home of sorts. This thread seems to have become a way for folks to get their frustrations off their chests. I say go for it. Share your stories, but we probably should refrain from directly naming members we had confrontations with.

Freddie, sorry for your loss. But think how funny this is. Not wanting anyone to know his secret identity, "He" types: He posted a picture of "me" from mug shots....that;s it for "me..." you were banned. You can't make this stuff up, LOL. Plus, we now know that our little smokie is a least a visitor.
