It IS a "Public Record" available to all right? The Public (including Forum Populous) has a right to know who and what is among them. Thanks for the Public Service. Maybe it's cool to harbor and hide Woman Beaters and Felons within your Staff in Canada..... Does "explain" ALOT doesn't it? ??

A background check would have reveled this information. You're right, Canada may have less restrictions on hiring/appointing policies. In Florida it's pretty much spelled out what you will give up for a moment of glory.
Disenfranchisement[edit] Main article: Felony disenfranchisement In the USA, every state with the exception of Maine and Vermont prohibits felons from voting while in prison.[1] Nine other states disenfranchise felons for various lengths of time following the completion of their probation or parole. However, the severity of each state's disenfranchisement varies.
Three states, Kentucky, Virginia, and Florida (Gov. Rick Scott reverted to the old policy in 2010 that had been changed by Gov. Charlie Crist), continue to impose a lifelong denial of the right to vote to all citizens with a felony record, in the absence of a restoration of civil rights by the Governor or, where allowed, state legislature.[1] Florida law is somewhat unique, in that the individual must be pardoned by the Governor and a majority of the publicly elected State Cabinet (with the Governor's vote being the tiebreaker, if necessary).
Felon jury exclusion[edit] The lifetime exclusion of felons from jury service is the majority rule in the U.S., used in thirty one states and in federal courts. The result is that over 6% of the adult population is excluded, including about 30% of black men,[2] creating a class of citizens defined and punished by the criminal justice system but unable to impact its function. Felon jury exclusion is less visible than felony disenfranchisement, and few socio-legal scholars have challenged the statutes that withhold a convicted felon’s opportunity to sit on a jury.[3] While constitutional challenges to felon jury exclusion almost always originate from interested litigants, some scholars contend that "it is the interests of the excluded felons that are most directly implicated."
Yet attacks on these blanket prohibitions levied by excluded felon jurors have failed consistently. The United States Supreme Court does not recognize the right to sit on a jury as fundamental.[4] It has been pointed out that, although lawmakers assert that felon jury exclusion measures protect the integrity of the adjudicative process, as felons “lack the requisite probity” to serve on a jury and are “inherently biased,” many of the states subscribing to this practice allow felons to practice law.[5] But that is a double-standard only if it is presumed that those who judge the arguments of both sides in a case are allowed to be as biased as those arguing for each side.
The U.S. Department of Justice has argued that felon jury exclusion laws do not discriminate against the disabled because there is no evidence that drug addicts as a class are convicted of felonies in any greater number than other classes of felons.[6]
Loss of right to possess firearms[edit] Main article: Felon in possession of a firearm Felons are regarded by the federal government, and most US states, as being "prohibited persons" under US law (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)). It is a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. This has been litigated before the Supreme Court. However, the Court upheld the regulation.

That would explain the Zealous Relentless & Viscious Push of Propaganda to get others to vote to legitimize his "Medicinal Compulsion/Obsession" in his stead huh? Imagine would be a Real Bad Deal for a Felon to be found with Contraband "Medicine" by the Authorities.... REAL BAD Deal. Oh well...

Freddie, sorry for your loss. But think how funny this is. Not wanting anyone to know his secret identity, "He" types: He posted a picture of "me" from mug shots....that;s it for "me..." you were banned. You can't make this stuff up, LOL. Plus, we now know that our little smokie is a least a visitor. Let me get this straight. The picture was posted here, and not on the other forum, and he got banned for it? Am I reading that right?

Evening Larry, sorry for the delay as I am not able to get to the PC timely right now. I believe, as I understand it, that the picture in question was posted by Fred as a new avatar on the 1800 site. Our esteemed MOD 2......sorry, Dennis, who is peaking all over the place, noticed that Fred mentioned that he had "changed" his avatar and thus the smoked up one used his "powers" to check it out and then "POOF" for poor Fred. I will, however, defer to Fred as he an expert on this subject. LOL Bottom line, as I see it, we are "smoking" over here with this thread and the number of posts to it. LOL

I understand now.
If it were me, I certainly would be embarrassed, even upset with the person that did it. Anybody would be.
While I understand that it was perfectly legal since this is a public record, you can't hide behind the claim that this was a public service. We all know it was done for one reason only. It was done for revenge. It was vindictive, and that should never be seen as a positive emotional trait.
I don't know all of the circumstances surrounding this battle, but as shocking as this is, I can't help but wonder if posting that pic was the wrong choice. Some things are always wrong, no matter what the reason.

Unlike most members, I owe a lot to the other board. It launched my company, WingConnect. What started out as just a fellow Goldwing owner doing something as a hobby somehow turned into an actual business. I figured I would do a few radios here and there for a couple of years, have some fun with it, and earn a little mad money while I was at it.
But somewhere along the line it turned into an actual business. It will probably never be lucrative enough to quit my day job, but it keeps me hopping, and it saved my bacon through 3 layoffs during the recession.
I understood that I couldn't mention the name of the company there. It wasn't fair to sponsors. But I appreciated being able to at least talk about related issues without worrying about getting banned. Unlike people like GWG, I never pushed my services in posts. That is tacky IMO, kind of like an insurance salesman always talking insurance when among friends.
But it appears I can't even do that anymore based on what happened to Lewis. It would eventually come around to me. So yesterday, I took the major step of turning off Private Messages on that board and referring people to my email address instead. I don't plan on going back, so if someone were to send me a PM, I would never know it. Today really is a sad day for me, more than you could know.
I don't know how much that will affect my business. I don't think a high percentage of my work comes from the board anymore. I think most of my work is now driven by Google searches and word of mouth. But if it does end, so be it. It will have been a really fun ride while it lasted, and I will be content that I made a lot of people's audio systems sound better, and saved people a lot of money in repairs.

I don't know all of the circumstances surrounding this battle, but as shocking as this is, I can't help but wonder if posting that pic was the wrong choice. Some things are always wrong, no matter what the reason. Well, now that this is just you and I talking, I'll narrow my response. Aside from introducing religion into this discussion with things like "turn the other cheek," and other quotes, I'll be very clear about how I feel about Dennis, or MOD 2 as he is affectionately known. I don't like him, nor do I respect him. He was quick to and continues to use his position of his self imposed power to alter a place that I too once loved. As for "revenge" will that is in the eye of the beholder. I liken his actions as those of todays Geek Bully. The little (yes, very small) kid who uses what "power" he has to "get his revenge" on those whose life his will never be like. So I ask you, how do you feel about the national program to inform your neighbors about child molesters who move into you community? Get rid of it I guess? Those who use the internet to "affect" the lives of others should be prepared as well. I personally think that a man can sink no lower than to strike or harm a woman. I disagree with you and believe that every woman should know and be aware of someone who would and has done such a thing. I quess we grew up differently as the likes of someone like Dennis would be the last thing I would defend. "I dont know all of the circumstances surrounding this battle........" It appears you are right, except for anything being a battle. It has more to do with right from wrong. Want a couple examples. Easy, go back to when "he" first got his "power" and see what he has done to a place that we BOTH really liked at one time. Then fast forward to his recently slam at Lewis as well all know it was him. I have long defended doing good, but my "city boy" does come out every once and awhile and when it does, it finds me still doing good. Due to my calling him and his dope buddies out on that board, I was Banned. Sure, I could have waited it out, but the writing on the wall was clear to me how that all was going to play out. I have gone thourgh life helping many, and doing what's right and what is good. But I have never had a problem calling a dirt bag a dirt bag, and taking out the trash. Hitting a woman is trash and as such, I have no problem calling it what it is. But I guess we are all different in what is acceptable. Now I gotta go as I am about to get something off my chest and have a date with a dirt bag.

Larry........I know you like a good discussion so let me continue. I'm glad your business grew thanks to the 1800 board. Gotta love small business. Your not alone, lots of other people also grew thanks to Hal and Lamont. What has VS given you? Let me name a few, ad's, forcing you to pay for a side line/hobby, the inability to speak out against the top/chosen vendors, removing the Hot Box, and the BIG ONE, placing the wrong people in a position with a VENDETTA. It's OK to speak or advertise that you developed a app for the motorcycle community, but you can not mention you fix radio's without paying. When you bring it to his attention and post it, it gets deleted. I see you noticed he jumped all over Lewis........The Hot Box was his stage for promoting pot and his stance on political, religious beliefs. His argument about pot was because he is always in pain, back issues. Medical use of a controlled substance is the fine line for someone who has a record/felony charges against them and a way to obtain/use for recreational pleasure. Dennis is all about Dennis. You should contact Rocky and have him tell you how he was running for his life because of Dennis. This guy is trouble and someone I do not want to be associated with. Just the thought of him being high and choking people is enough. This is a guy who attends 1800 gatherings with your friends and wife's. Pretty scary thought? If he lived next door to me I would place a sign outside letting everyone know a wife beater lives here. Call it what you will that does not change the way I think of you or him........

Wheels, Somewhere along the line you got the impression that I condone what he did, but I assure you nothing could be further from the truth.
My comments were taken incorrectly, and this is quickly going sideways, so I am going to bow out before I make it worse.

No worries my friend and hope that I can still ask you why I need to hit the radio just above the audio button to engage my mic for the intercom. All the best to you.

The radio's input connectors are just below that area, on the back side of the radio. You probably have oxidized connector pins that need cleaning. A couple of drops of WD40 or contact cleaner in each pin socket should do the trick.

What has VS given you? Let me name a few, ...removing the Hot Box... Not to take anything away from what Fred said, but I did want to clear one thing up. My mission, after VS took over, was to get the Hotbox eliminated. As a member, ignoring the Hotbox was easy. You simply didn't subscribe so you never saw the content. But, as a moderator at the time, I HAD to subscribe to view all the reported posts, and believe me, there were dozens of them a day. There were some sick, twisted, demented people posting some vile, hateful and downright disturbing things in the Hotbox. Some of the things that were posted got people banned. I begged and pleaded with the "powers that be" (at the time) to remove the Hotbox. Finally, one person made a post that was WAY OVER THE TOP, and that one post was the last nail in the coffin. And I must say, I was very happy when it was deleted. So while it was the admin's at VS who deleted the Hotbox, it was a good decision and I for one championed the the cause. OK, back to your regular programming....
